Let your profile do the talking!

Learning to be a developer is one of the best decisions you've ever made. Acquiring the programming skill itself can be hard work, but thankfully, nowadays the barriers are lower than ever, with a variety of resources available online and offline.

The challenge is to go beyond learning to develop valuable, profitable skills and to back those up by establishing a reputation for trustworthiness. These attributes are equally important as you work to become successful.

Henry Ford

As a coder, you need to have a reputation based on projects you’ve already completed. But since you’re starting from zero, you have NO projects and NO reputation. To look good when your name comes up in online searches, you need to do the following:

  • Learn
  • Code
  • Showcase

Now set the loop to run over and over again!

In everyday life, this means that you spend time surfing the web for online courses; wait to gain a level of mastery; overcome barriers to join open source projects on coding platforms; spend time blogging; attend gatherings; and hang out on the various forums. Do all you can to show everyone your work.

Now, imagine that you have one convenient place where you can do all of this! It organically converts your code learning and achievements into a competitive ranking. You’ll have your shining Coder Identity Profile, built automatically, it lists your personal, individual skills and competitive rankings.

I believe that you should have the opportunity to do only what you love – and to do it often!

Keep coding
